    ​Asharqia Chamber organizes a meeting with the Omani trade delegation​

    The volume of mutual trade between the two countries has increased to more than 38 billion riyals.

    Asharqia Chamber organized a meeting with the Omani trade delegation on Monday, December 4, 2023, which witnessed significant participation from chamber members and business sectors in the region. The delegation specializes in oil and gas services, logistics, contracting, construction, catering services, tourism, and hospitality. Additionally, the delegation focuses on industrial salt, fuel stations, tourism programs, technology, energy, and electricity services.

    During the meeting, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Ruzzaiza, the Chairman of theAsharqia Chamber's Board of Directors, stated that the relations between the Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman are characterized by a high level of brotherly ties strengthened by familial connections, shared heritage, and a common destiny. He emphasized the sincere bonds of affection between the leaders of both countries.

    Al-Ruzzaiza highlighted the common will of the two nations, guided by the directives of their leaderships, to enhance cooperation and strengthen partnerships. This common will has been a key factor in the development and growth of economic relations and trade exchange between them. The trade volume increased to more than 38 billion riyals in 2022, compared to about 11 billion riyals in 2021 and approximately 10 billion riyals in 2020.​
    He also mentioned that joint investments between the two sides in various economic sectors have witnessed significant increases over the past few years. This overall trend reflects the substantial opportunities and potential for both countries to expand economic cooperation, enhance bilateral trade, and establish more investment projects. Dr. Al-Janibi added that the three-day visit complements a series of previous visits by the delegation in recent years. The aim is to explore investment opportunities between the two countries, urging the business sectors in both the Kingdom and Oman to seize the opportunities and benefit from the facilitation packages offered by both countries to enhance investment and contribute to the economic and commercial sectors with quality projects.

    Al-Janibi explained that the Omani delegation is participating today in a tour, visiting the branch of the chamber in the Jubail province, in addition to major economic entities. During this tour, they are familiarizing themselves with the significant available opportunities. The Omani delegation is also providing a comprehensive explanation of the Omani economy and its operational mechanisms, along with guidance on how to benefit from these investment opportunities in Oman​.
